Terms and Conditions – Shield Security PRO

Last Updated: 2019-10-11

Common Terms and Conditions

This document outlines any further Terms and Conditions that supplement the standard, Common Terms and Conditions.

Acceptance of these Terms represents the acceptance of the combined Terms outlined in both this document, and those specified in the Common Terms and Conditions.

Note there may be overlap in some Terms. These do not constitute replacement of Common Terms and Conditions, but rather additions to, and/or clarifications for particular Product-specific scenarios or circumstances.

Supplemental Terms

Company, Service, and Product Names

‘Shield Security’ is a plugin provided by the U.K.-registered company, ‘Fernleaf Systems Limited’. In this document, these 2 names may be used interchangeably but they refer to the one registered entity: Fernleaf Systems Limited.

Privacy Policy

The full privacy policy for Shield Security is that laid out here. Note, again, that the full and complete privacy policy of the Shield Security plugin is the combination of the Common Privacy Policy, and any supplemental policies.

Email Marketing

After registering and/or purchasing any item from the Shield Security website, you may be automatically invited to the Shield Security email list. This is an invitation. You will not be automatically subscribed to any email marketing lists.

You will thereby receive an double-optin email outlining this subscription and requesting your permission to confirm. If you do not confirm the subscription, you will not be added to any email lists for marketing purposes.

To not subscribe to the list, simply ignore and/or delete the invitation email.

Plugin Licensing

Shield Security and all extensions, unless otherwise stated, are licensed under the GNU General Public License (http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html) version 2.0 or later.

Our e-commerce/marketing website will typically state that a license is for 1 website, or any particular numbers of websites.

Clarification: Plugin Licensing As Applied To A “Website”

This section is provided to ensure that our per-site licensing terms are clear.

A customer claimed that a website could include any number of WordPress installations under a single domain name.

We reject this, and instead, our definition of “website” is strict and clear: a single installation of WordPress, whereupon a plugin may be installed. This also includes WordPress network/WPMS sites.

So, if you have a single domain name, with multiple installations of WordPress installed, for example, in subfolders, you will need to procure a separate license for each installation of the plugin for each site.

i.e. 1 license covers one and only one independent WordPress installation, regardless of the domain name or path of that website.

Further Warranty Stipulations

Plugins sold and distributed by Shield Security are done so in the hope that they will be useful, but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Inasmuch as WordPress functions correctly on a clean install of itself, Shield Security is guaranteed to function on a clean install of the minimum, stable and required version of WordPress for Shield Security and extensions. Because the number and variety of plugins is vast and wide, we do not guarantee that the plugin will function with all third-party plugins, themes or browsers of any kind.

We do not assume responsibility and will not be held responsible for any conflicts or compatibility issues that may occur due to third-party software. We assume no responsibility for any data loss as a result of installing or using Shield Security. Should conflicts occur with third-party software, we may provide support at our discretion.

Further Support Stipulations

Fernleaf Systems Limited sells and distributes all their plugins “as is” and with no implied meaning that they will function exactly as you would like, or that they will be compatible with all third-party components and plugins.

Support for plugins sold and distributed by Fernleaf Systems Limited is only available for those who have an active, paid extension license.

Support and updates are granted for one year after the original purchase based on the license you have purchased. After one year is completed, the purchaser must renew their license in order to continue receiving support and updates for the items purchased. For purchases that include an automatically renewing subscription, support will be provided for as long as the subscription remains active.

Support and updates for Shield Security are provided as long as the Shield Security plugin is actively in development by Fernleaf Systems Limited. Should any one of the following occur, Fernleaf Systems Limited will no longer be responsible for providing support for Shield Security:

The Shield Security plugin is no longer actively developed as a viable service or product from Fernleaf Systems Limited.

Shield Security, or the parent company is purchased partly or entirely bought out by another company.

WordPress is no longer actively developed.

Whilst we attempt to provide the best support possible for our plugins, we do not guarantee that any particular support query can, or will be answered to the extent, or within a timeframe that the inquirer is completely satisfied.

Automatic Updates

Automatic updates are available to license holders who have an active and valid subscription and license key. Automatic updates are available for Shield Security. Automatic updates are available as long as the license key generated from the purchase is valid and active.

License Usage

Fernleaf Systems Limited grants each customer one or more non-transferable license(s) to use the software for internal use, and as defined by the terms set in the customer’s chosen license package.

Where the license package allows the software to be used on multiple sites the customer/license-holder may not sell the originally-purchased license key provided by Fernleaf Systems Limited, to other users of the license (such as clients) for commercial benefit. Additionally, the customer may not sublicense, to any person or entity, any rights to distribute the software or license key. Fernleaf Systems Limited will only provide support services to the original customer/license-holder with a legitimate license key, and consider any other uses of this license key for support queries as fraudulent.

Plugin Delivery

After we have processed your payment successfully, you will receive an email with your order number and other purchase information. Your license key is available in your account area along with your plugin downloads. You can download the plugin by logging into the account created for you when purchasing the plugin and clicking on the appropriate link.

Some plugins may not require a separate download. All relevant scenarios will be outlined to you in your purchase email.

Should you not receive an email containing your information, you can contact us through https://support.onedollarplugin.com to request your purchase information.

Access to re-download purchased files will be granted so long as your license key is valid. If a license key expires, download access to the associated files will be discontinued until such time as the license key is renewed.
